Built
in 1117, Berkeley Castle has been home to 24 generations of the
Berkley family. Steeped in scandal and intrigue, a backdrop to
the signing of the Magna Carta and the murder of Edward II in 1327.
1645 saw the castle besieged by Cromwell.
